An intriguing dip into the Tennessee culture. I knew nothing of Nashville until relocating to Toronto and Calgary when Shania Twain took off like a rocket. I saw her at Deerhurst Inn when I accompanied one of my tour groups to stay in cottage country Ontario. She was part of the backup singers on stage for dinner/theatre.
Then in Calgary, it was a given that free tickets would find me at a concert with Alan Jackson whose opening act was an unknown (then) guitar vamp, Brad Paisley. He rolled down his limo window as he passed our car and neither of us knew who he was until he rolled out on stage. My girlfriend (mom of 3) nearly had a stroke.
Anyway, memories emerge via strange prompts. Thanks for this total immersion.
I wasn't endorsing Dawkins's theory, which is about ideas more than genes, so much as I was looking through his eyes (as much as one can through those bushy eyebrows).
It is an interesting lens, despite all its flaws, as is the genetic theory that underpins it. Epigenetics adds enormous complexity to that theory, but doesn't necessarily undermine it.
The main takeaway, I hope, is that bad ideas lead to broken bloodlines. Also, that Nashville is still a great town! Maybe we can keep it that way.

Love the guitar sponsor bit!

You might want to reconsider you're understanding of Genes from the perspective of Epigenetics.

Very familiar with epigenetics. You might want to consider what I was actually talking about.
I obviously didn't get it. Please explain.
