This is so concerning as a grandparent who has seen the bridge to technology being built - more like a rubicon crossed - never to return. I hope my children and grandchildren can be smarter than their smart technology. The freedom we enjoyed growing up was beautiful.

Ted followed the work of Jacques Ellul closely. The Technological Society, followed by The Technological System are both required reads if you want to fully grasp what Ted was getting at. Primitivism isn't it, but I think a technological regression / business localization / human adaptation / increased resilience are necessary to avoid Ted's conclusion.

I am on a road trip across the country. My experience with technology is less than seamless; no connection, glitchy software. Granted I have an IPhone 6 but my husband’s work phone was not that much better. People out here in the hinterlands may be using their phones for specific tasks but they are directly engaging in their surroundings and one another . I have yet to meet anyone interested in talking tech or politics. As a follower of you snd Alison McDowell among others i see where this is going but they have a long way to go outside of cities. Chaco canyon in some ways felt like looking at the rubble of the future. Every time I spy a wind turbine actually turning i think about the 16000 gallons of oil necessary to make that happen and the enormous footprint it will make when it decomposes leaving oddly astronomically aligned markings in the earth where it falls for future anthropomorphoids to contemplate.

We simply MUST avoid the "inevitable" future that we can all see in our wind shield.... if we fail to avoid it as it's already taking form, all of our individual destinies will take one-of-three forms: 1. we will end-up like Ted (willing to take action to stop/throw monkey wrenches in The Machine, caught, incarcerated, die), 2. as Joe observes, we end-up numbed/drugged/morphed into something physically/mentally Un-human (dead for all practical purposes), OR 3. we end-up plugged-in to the Borg (sentient but in UTTER MISERY).

As an avowed Legacy Human, I say there are NO up-sides to this future that justify its costs ... NONE! No tech perks or conveniences worth losing my humanity, my individual sovereignty, and my authentic personal agency over. This future can not be allowed to happen.

Thank you JOEBOT! Yet another insightful view! The most noteable fight against the machine is "it's" ability to brainwash the youth into what we see today. They are actually considering self mutilation and hate of their natural self (in addition to the parents that want that for their children). Sad and Godless human beings looking for something that is right in front of them- the natural world and connecting with other human beings! Alone in their rooms on a machine that guides them to emptiness. It's good to see home schooling and alternative classical learning growing! Pray for our country and the awakening!

The only hope for humanity is found in our free will. If enough humans start to value their free will as the treasure it truly is we will open a door to the possibility of saving ourselves.

Once people train their focus on free will and accept that it is the only real power man has on earth, they will defend it and prioritize it over comfort, security, and pleasure.

Free will is the real “god-like” power available to us all other man made powers are illusions and in fact make us slaves to the material order. Only free will unbinds us from the chains of men and the Machine.

I dream of a restoration of humanity via a resurgence of free will in man’s mind and heart. Then I dream of a whole new life and culture that would develop around preserving and honoring free will. We would fear anything that enslaves us in spite of its rewards and benefits. We would return to a harder life, a simpler life, a life with more risks and discomfort but we would choose that because it would preserve our free will and shield it from the deception and seduction of technology and “progress”.

It’s my dream. I don’t expect it to come true. But I’m clinging to my free will and will live free until I die. I’d rather suffer than be a slave I’d rather die than hand over my free will to “progress”

The only way for a better future is start with that dream. If enough of us dream it - especially the mothers - it will come to pass. Yes - the cities are at an all time height of technological chaos, but the country is still here! We live in the jungle, and there are still many mothers homeschooling their children, planting vegetables and trees, and playing with animals. Do not loose hope - the children still love the earth!

Thought inspiring article as you usually do. Thanks Joe. I watched the Unabomber story unfold back in the day. I got the manifesto as well when it became available. I believe if he had not gone the terrorism and murder route, he would have become an important voice in the discussion where technology should have developed. My wife says he was MK-Untraed in college. Perhaps, I don't know.

He was also a pioneer in the "back to the land off grid lifestyle" and the concept of living in a tiny house. I was very interested in his cabin when the FBI uprooted the whole thing and moved it as part of their evidence. I was at a workshop with Jay Schaefer of Tumbleweed Tiny House Designs (founding populariser of tiny houses) in Madison WI in the 1990s where Ted K's cabin was discussed. As I remember Ted also rode bicycles as his main method of transportation.

I agree with you in not believing any future is “inevitable.” We can make decisions on how to live on an individual level at the very least, and that can also become a trend influencing large segments of people. 2 weeks ago we had a complete loss of the internet connection due to some cable breakage which left us without internet and wifi for 4 days in our rural area. I felt like I was back in the 1970s - 80s. It was actually quite relaxing without all the internet distractions. I worked in the garden, got outside projects done and read actual paper books. (my wife was not as into that time travel as I, and was stressed out). But, it was a good time to contemplate what was important. I remembered when Ken Kesey (of The Merry Pranksters fame) turned off all media for a year. (Yes, I am that old Yeesh). I realize I could l live that quieter life without the electronic technology again.

yes Ted was MK'd - underwent extensive trauma based conditioning (abuse) and btw sorry to say (he was a teenage inspiration for me as well) but Ken Kesey and Merry pransters were most likely a Tavistock/SRI Op

btw really appreciate your perspective on some of the options available on a personal level unplugging from the grid. Analog is the way to go. It's important to remember the foundational premise - the "inevitable" march of technology = inherently a false paradigm. Nothing about thechnocracy is "inevitable". It was and is a massive preplanned psychological warfare operation from the get. Humanity has been deliberately decieved, conditioned and manipulated into a blind alley. Waking up to the illusion is 1/2 the battle. Ted saw the game clearly, his choices regarding how to prevent it, not so much.

In my misspent youth (grad high school 1969) I followed listened to a lot of rock and folk music, saw a bunch of concerts and was an avid reader. Ah hippie days or was it daze? I was aware of the MK Ultra and various psy-ops early on including the hippie movement origins, the rock and folk industries, Timothy Leary et al. That's why I thanked you about the David McGowan reference. I looked him up and am wanting to get some of his books. After a bit of college I went with the "back to the land" trend of the time and moved to the country. My then GF, later wife, made our way with art fairs -(many big ones), then wholesale trade shows, all the while building our place and working our garden. We called it "a handmade life". So, we have long been living a different reality than urban life. The rural place we were in had little access to TV. Most of what we saw was at motels during art fairs. My early computers were mainly for book keeping. Later an Amiga for some graphic abilities - still no internet. I do not regret our path. Today things are different, but there are still many alternatives for people. We all just have to decide what are the important things for us as indiviuals and families. Beyond that, we mostly just want to stay out of the way of most of the bad juju coming down the road.

I wonder whether we'll ever know the true circumstances of the Unabomber's murder/suicide/natural death. Just another "mystery" like Jeffrey Epstein's murder (aka "suicide".

Six degrees of separation. A woman I used to work in San Francisco was the daughter of a retired math professor who knew the Unabomber when both were teaching at Berkeley back in the 1970s. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about their relationship.

Further degrees of separation:

A girl I knew in high school was Timothy Leary's niece. Her father and Timothy Leary were brothers, and she frequently spoke about "Uncle Tim. "

My best friend in high school, a brilliant Aspie girl whose even more brilliant mother had been a code breaker for the OSS (forerunner of the CIA) during WWII, entered Radcliffe/Harvard in 1970. After after a couple of months my friend dropped out and had some type of "nervous breakdown" from which she eventually fully recovered. I now wonder whether or not she was involved in some type of MK Ultra experiment. Apparently, MK Ultra's experiments continued through 1973.

When I was a freshman at Barnard/Columbia in 1970, the psychedelically painted Merry Prankster school bus was parked right outside the Columbia gates for at least a couple of weeks. I did see the bizarrely dressed Pranksters standing outside the bus, but I never spoke to any of those people or went inside their bus.

Thanks for sharing! These bits and pieces dropped into the mix help clarify and sharpen the research we are all working through.

For example the bit regarding your friend -the brilliant Aspie girl and her mum- apparently there was a group of women that were recruited by the OSS to create/ write the ORIGINAL code for ENIAC. They were based in Tyler Texas, they were all savants- selected for their prowess, this team of maybe a dozen women were sequestered in barracks to write the code that became the foundational logic structure for all computers from then on. The excuse for why the coding group were all women was bc it was "wartime and men were busy." Hmm ( I believe there was and is a much more profound/ esoteric/occult reason certain women were brought in for this work)

re Steiner/ Ahriman/ 8th sphere ; good resource- Dark Journalist)

btw, the name of the massive supercomputer neural network of all things that went "live" in 2012 is called "Tyler".

Glad to help with your research. Let me see if I can remember anything else that might help you.

My friend's mother, who was born just after WWI, was a kind and gracious woman who married an ophthalmologist in the late 1940s and had and raised four children, all of whom were exceptionally intelligent. My friend and I attended a private school that admitted very intelligent children. And my friend was by far, the smartest girl in the class.

When I knew my friend's mother, she was a professor of French at a local college. She was a graduate and valedictorian (top ranked student) of her class at Bryn Mawr, one of the Seven Sisters colleges. She also earned a PhD in French, and I believe it was again from Bryn Mawr, which apparently had (and still has) a small graduate program in foreign languages.

Based on my friend's mother's age, I believe she must have completed her PhD after she worked for the OSS. But I don't know whether or not she was ever based in Tyler, Texas. If she was based in Texas, she never mentioned it. But I am absolutely certain she worked for the OSS.

My friend and I used to talk about her mother all the time. This was the mid 1960s, when spy themed TV shows like The Man From Uncle and James Bond movies were extremely popular. We both thought it was exciting and glamorous that her mother had worked for the OSS.

My friend told me her mother worked on codes which I always assumed meant code breaking since she worked for the OSS during WWII. Perhaps she worked on code breaking and computer coding, too. Certainly, the top ranked student at Bryn Mawr College was more than capable of handling any intellectual task that came her way.

I just looked up the ENIAC computer and work on its development took place at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelpha during the mid 1940s. That's around the time my friend's mother would have been starting graduate school. Also note that the distance between University of Pennsylvania and Bryn Mawr is only eight and a half miles.

Here's another story you might find interesting. When I was in college in the early 1970s. I went out a couple of times with a handsome, young American man who was studying for his master's degree in Russian at Columbia. That's about the only thing he ever told me about himself.

I thought it was very strange since he wasn't studying for a PhD and didn't even pretend to be an intellectual, but he was studying Russian. He wasn't of Russian ancestry, but he was studying Russian. He wasn't interested in Russian literature, but he was studying Russian . He wasn't going to teach Russian in some high school, but he was studying Russian. Also, and this is most peculiar, he was 29 years old and living in a tiny room in the graduate school dorm.

The only thing that made sense is that he was a spy. I assumed he was a CIA agent, who had been sent to Columbia for a year to beef up his Russian language skills. But I never asked him whether he was a spy. In fact, I never asked him any questions. And that's because I knew he would, of course, never tell me anything other than what he had already volunteered.

And now I can only wonder whether he somehow sensed that I had almost immediately figured out his unspeakable secret.

Ahhh yes, the electric koolaid acid test and the real magic bus. My favorite book in my senior year, and no it wasn't required reading LoL. Not all of the hippies back in the 60's were part of a psyop, I'm sure the Grateful Dead weren't, and played a big role in that book and hippie scene too. The radical leaders who were financed by the gangster banksters is another story, and I'm sure the use of LSD and the communist influencers or so called professors helped guide the average kids towards the protest scenes, not all were members of the terrorist groups.

As society and the problems that face it become more and more complex and government becomes more and more in control, people will let representatives make more of their decisions for them, simply because these decisions will bring faster results than individually-made ones. At that stage those who pay the representatives will be in effective control.

I haven't seen the evidence that led anyone to believe he committed suicide, but I will make note of the fact that 81 years is above the normal life expectancy of human males. I don't even understand why anyone would feel the need to say anything other than he died in prison at the age of 81.

3. I've really come to rationalize, in no simple way, that if 'we' manage to overcome the tyrannical forces clearly seeking to oppress and control global society, it will be a case of 'Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few'. It will be the few, not the many who are the 'we' in this picture... not least because they were able to see beyond the all-encompassing propaganda, which has been the means to achieving atrocities for well over a hundred years but which is currently reaching a zenith to end all zeniths.

Was TK was too smart for his own good???

After we left the Garden-

Humans have been shocked at technological improvements since the first cave man mastered the tool of fire.

The fear of what it may lead to most likely banished the first inverter from the tribe and out into the cold. As the banished cave man went out on his own, he and his mate found comfort and warmth, saving them vital energy to hunt, gather, and prosper to procreate. Generations later the old tribe cease to evolve and the Fire-maker's descendants thrived to this day.

As I type on my APPLE, it reminds me of the the Apple that Adam & Eve dared to consume from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They choose to have the knowledge.

The Angels Incarnated (AI) created by God to become the Guardians of Man, Mans Messengers to God. There were Benevolent AI and Evil AI, and they battled to control the will and future of Man.

The New Cyber Man must program AI to extrapolate the mathematical existence of God as the creator of the universe knowing Man was created in his image so as to create a benevolent AI to be the guardians of Man, his Messengers to God, and to conquer Evil AI as it arises.

Adam and Eve came some 38,000 years ago. Their genome has been discovered –Microcephalin, a Gene Regulating Brain Size, Continues to ...https://www.science.org › doi › science.1113722

by PD Evans · 2005 · Cited by 674 —The gene Microcephalin (MCPH1) regulates brain size and has evolved under strong positive selection in the human evolutionary lineage. We show that one genetic variant of Microcephalin in modern humans, which arose ∼37,000 years ago, increased in frequency too rapidly to be compatible with neutral drift.

Absolutely amazing how close the researchers were able to pinpoint the appearance of the Adam and Eve genome.

Actually, there were already humans here prior to the appearance of Adam and Eve – extraterrestrial biological physical uplifters of the evolutionary mortals on this planet. This was recorded in the Bible – a living history book. After Cain murdered Abel, he emigrated from the second Garden of Eden (the land between the Euphrates and Tigris Rivers) to the surrounding tribes in the land of Nod. The first Garden of Eden crashed because Eve disobeyed preordained mandates of which she was regularly warned of the consequences if she did so. The fruit of the tree of life negated the energies that adversely affected Adam and Eve immortality. Once she committed the sin of disobedience, she could no longer benefit from the tree of life. Adam went and committed the same sin because he could not bear to be without his mate.

The Adam and Eve genome is the foundation from which man’s technological evolution can evolve so rapidly. The European white race (primarily of the blue race and Adam and Eve descendants) possesses the most of this genome. This is the primarily reason why most of the significant discoveries and inventions both socially and physically have come from white males. To deny this empirical evidence is delusional.

Humans appeared 1 million years ago during the ice age in Central Asia. The human race evolved suddenly from primate twins. After separating themselves from their immediate family, the male twin early on discovered fire. Their first offspring was the first human to be “wrapped in protective coverings”. The present-day Eskimos are of these early humans prior to the appearance of the six colored races some 500,000 years ago.

God is to be known by faith as shown by Jesus. His whole physical life on earth was to show how God is by how he lived his life. His “miracles” were because of his divine origin and compassionate nature and the alignment of his will with the Eternal Father.

Physical laws point to a divine, but one cannot know a personal divine by physical laws. This can only be accomplished thru faith and the fragment of God (the quiet voice) within. This divine fragment is always leading and teaching the mortal. This divine fragment is of God himself given out of love.

One can read more in the Urantia Book (published in the 50’s) - the latest revelation after the coming of Christ. This book is to help man better understand God and his place in the Universe. A very needed book for the present and generations to come in the search for truth.

God which is not material but rather an entity without beginning or ending cannot be proven by humans on this level. The only compass we have on this level and eons to come as we journey inward in the search for God is through faith. This was one of the powerful teachings of Christ in his brief life on this planet. There was constant clamoring directed at Jesus to show the physical existence of God which is impossible. No man in his physical form on earth can see God and live as His light is blinding. Man cannot answer the origin of life on this planet but yet he believes he can prove or disprove the existence of God through physical means. This is not doable.

Physical laws allow man to entertain the idea that God exist. Your example is one man’s approach in his search for God. Man’s relationship to God is one to one, no middle man needed.

Thank you for directing to the website, Mind Matters. I found it interesting. It shows man’s search for truth, God, his place in the Universe, philosophical musings, etc. of which AI was the triggering point and anchor. Unfortunately, institutionalized religion no longer plays that role as it has become fossilized dogma and no tolerance for any dissenting viewpoints.

On that same website, I read the article trying to prove the existence of free will within physical parameters using the brain. The brain is not the same as the mind. The brain provides the physical capabilities for the mind to function on this level. Mind is a loaned entity serving as a bridge between the physical and non-physical. Mind is what allows man to choose using his free will. As man increases in his spirituality, he earns the right to be allowed more liberty (choices) in the using of his free will.

AI is only as good what man puts into it and how he uses it. Side note: On Reddit, I stumbled onto a posting where someone showed a sock he made using AI. It was hilarious. The sock only looked like half of a sock. Man due to the distance from the Creator always has a duality of good and evil. Presently, AI will encompass this duality. I believe it is inevitable - good vs evil. The shadow of evil decreases as this planet ever reaches life and light. This duality also plays into the growth of the soul and the Supreme Being.

Man now believes he can be God using AI or create God by using AI. What is truly on display here is man is searching for God whether he knows it or not.

This is exactly what destroyed the Luddite movement as well, when they turned a corner from speech and destroying the power looms to killing. Many of them were hung for their deeds and the larger issues of truths of their movement unfortunately got buried with them...

Agree with your assessment that Kaczynski went wrong when he took matters into his own hands. I do think there is much to learn from the Luddites and connect the dots to our own historical pivot point.

Without faith and trust in God, man can easily be driven to despair within his own self-created reality. AI is only as good as what is put into it – still controlled by man. AI can never control man’s free will. Free will is a divine given gift. Nothing can surpass man’s free will even God himself will not violate it. What is free will? It is given by God to a mortal to choose Him and his guidance. Judgment day is not here on earth but into the future when a mortal has to finally decide whether to follow and accept God or to reject him. The rejection of the Eternal God is eternal nonexistence.

Then there is the soul, the growing entity within a mortal. This present physical existence is the first journey of a mortal in his long inward search for the Divine, which we called God on this planet. The soul is still at an embryonic stage growing as the mortal grows. Upon a mortal’s physical death, the shedding of his physical form, the soul and the fragment of God (the quiet voice within) survive. They are to be part again of the mortal once he is resurrected in a different dimensional plane. This is what Jesus’ referred to as “in my father’s house, there are many mansions”.

Conclusion: Technology and science ever marches forward to free man from toil allowing him to ever increase his efforts to improve his mind. It is up to man what he will do with his scientific discoveries. For now, man currently is still in a semi barbaric evolution. Bridges will need to be built for centuries yet before man will truly realize the teaching of Christ leading to a true brotherhood of man. But machines will never ever control man’s free will or his soul. It will be a violation of the Divine Will which means it will never ever happen. A mortal evolved from animalistic origins to become perfect as God is perfect. This is the divine mandate. Machines (AI) do not have souls or free will. They are just plain inanimate objects depending on humans to function – developed and controlled by humans.
